PETER JENNINGS IN NEW DEAL WITH ABC NEWS Sun Aug 25 2002 16:20:37 ET ABC NEWS anchor Peter Jennings has agreed to stay at the network, top sources told the DRUDGE REPORT this weekend. An official announcement is said to be imminent. The new contract will keep Jennings at ABC NEWS for years to come, sources said. "We are in the home stretch," said an insider, of the up-and-down emotions after ABC asked Jennings to take a cut in his salary. Financial terms of the new deal are being held close, but insiders believe the anchor's annual salary of nearly $10 million a year will not change.
