NBC News’ “Nightly News with Tom Brokaw” placed second with 8,740,000 total viewers and 2,690,000 Adults 25-54. The ratings mark the first time since September 24, 2001 that “World News Tonight” beat “Nightly News” in both demos with Peter Jennings and exiting-Tom Brokaw anchoring the broadcasts.
