Would-be bomber Says She lost three brothers fighting US in Iraq
Tue Nov 15 2005 10:43:00 ET

Jordanian authorities said Tuesday an Iraqi woman who confessed to taking part in a suicide bombing operation against Amman hotels has told them three of her brothers were killed by US forces in Iraq.

Other sources have disclosed a further link to the Iraq insurgency, telling the AFP wire that the would-be bomber's Jordanian brother-in-law, an explosives expert with experience in Afghanistan, had also died fighting US troops in Iraq.

The revelations came as officials pressed ahead with a probe into the November 9 triple hotel blasts, which killed 57 people, trying in particular to learn if a four-person Iraqi suicide team had help from people who might still be in Jordan.

"The priority is to find out if the suicide bombers had accomplices who are still in Jordan," a security source said.

The attacks targeted three downtown hotels used by Westerners travelling to Iraq and were claimed by an Al-Qaeda unit based there, headed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
