MAY SWEEPS BLOWOUT: 35 SHARE FOR 'IDOL' Thu May 25 2006 09:06:09 ET FOX hit the gusher Wednesday night between 9:30 and 10 pm ET for its naming of the season's new AMERICAN IDOL -- when it pulled a 25.1 rating/35 share! The number placed the show to near OSCAR-levels and gave Murdoch's FOX a historic sweeps sendoff. IDOL maxed with 70 share in Birmingham, Alabama; 50 share in Atlanta; 41 share in Boston; 40 share in Washington, DC and hit a 37 Detroit.
