Rick Kaplan is leaving the network after 2 1/2 years of service as MSNBC's President. I'm enclosing a note that I've just sent to MSNBC employees. I appreciate Rick's dedication and hard work and offer him nothing but the best. During a brief transition phase, I've asked MSNBC department heads to run their businesses and report directly to me. Most importantly, the message of this day is a continued commitment by everyone at MSNBC to excellence.
