President Clinton is now seriously considering a brief address to the nation
following his grand jury testimony tomorrow night. The statement would be
made from the White House residence -- not the Oval Office -- and would beam
around 9:30 PM...

TRIPP SAW HILLARY'S TRAVEL OFFICE MEMO
Linda Tripp has told investigators that when she worked in the White House
counsel's office -- she saw a memorandum with a notation by Hillary Rodham
Clinton related to the dismissal of the White House travel office.
The exclusive detail breaks in Monday's NEW YORK TIMES.
Mrs. Clinton has denied any role in the firings.
"Starr had never seen such a document, suggesting the possibility that
evidence in a case he was investigating had been destroyed," reports the paper.
"Never cited publicly, the alleged missing memorandum became an important
element in Starr's argument to the Justice Department that there was a
multifaceted White House pattern of obstructing justice."

CLINTON MAY BE PLAYED PORTIONS OF LEWINSKY TAPES DURING TESTIMONY
President Clinton's may finally get to listen to those taped conversations
between Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp. And it could come during his grand
jury testimony tomorrow afternoon, it has been learned!
One Washington source directly involved in the proceedings has described a
scenario that has key evidence being presented to Bill Clinton during
Monday's nightmare session.
"The president will be asked a question. He will give his answer. Then a
prosecutor will play a portion of audio directly from the original
Lewinsky/Tripp tapes. Then the president will be asked to respond."
The well-placed source, who demanded not to be identified, noted that
prosecutors no longer have to rely on audio tapes alone, having obtained
Lewinsky's own first person testimony, but hearing Lewinsky voice could help
Prosecutors may indeed play hardball, try to turn Clinton with the sound of
Monica Lewinsky's own voice, the source explains.
"There is no way to know how [Clinton] would respond to hearing her," the
"I also expect he'll be shown pictures and played back other tapes that have
his own voice on them... It could end up being quite a multimedia presentation."
Starr and his staff met into the night Sunday preparing their questions.

THE TAPES COMETH...?
"I wish we could release the tapes on Tuesday, after whatever he does on
Monday, so people would realize the depravity that has gone on...
[depravity] is the best word I can find for it."
That's what Lucianne Goldberg told me on WABC-AM Saturday night.
The country may soon get its first listen to the tapes that started a
political nightmare. But first, according to Goldberg, there are legal
issues surrounding public release.
"We want to get the tapes out!" Goldberg told New York City. "We have
copyright problems. But we are trying... Linda Tripp did not sacrifice her
career and her livelihood and her sanity for all of these months to spend
years in the court with litigation. So we have to work our way through.
But I know we will find a way!"
The tapes contain shocking details, not yet publicly known, about the former
White House intern's alleged relationship with the president.

'HE THAT SOWETH...'
January 20, 1993
For his inaugural ceremony, Bill Clinton chose a King James Bible given to
him by his grandmother, opened to a passage: "He that soweth to his flesh
shall of the flesh reap corruption."
Aides said Clinton selected the passage for use during the swearing in from
the Epistle of Paul The Apostle to the Galatians, Chapter 6, Verse 8.
"For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he
that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."
